David McAlvany is President of the McAlvany Financial Group and ICA, a 35 year old precious metals brokerage firm. He has been a featured speaker on radio and around the country analyzing world events and their impact on the global economy and financial markets. He was educated at Biola University and is an associate member of Keble College, Oxford University, where he studied literature and political philosophy. Following University he spent time working with The Trinity Institute in Tehuacana, Texas, and later in Chile volunteering as an analyst with The Institute for Liberty and Development—an economic think tank. He then went on to achieve honors as a top salesman with the Southwestern Company. Mr. McAlvany has had a breadth of experience in many areas of business, including start-ups, and financial brokerage at the top producing Pasadena, California, office of Morgan Stanley.
Mr. McAlvany is a past board member of The Warren Electric Group in Houston, Texas. He also served on the board of Eco-lutions, a California environmental non-profit. David assisted in fund raising with Hugh O’Brien’s HOBY National Youth Leadership program. Mr. McAlvany is currently the Secretary of The Asia-Pacific Children’s Fund, a non-profit for orphanages in the Asian third-world.
As an avid reader on everything from economics to philosophy, David facilitates a bi-monthly arts and culture forum in Durango, Colorado. He lives in Durango with his wife and two sons.
