Some Time Off for Family

This week HAI is just prices. This author is receiving a most welcome visit from family, and time is tight. HAI will be back next week! 

Weekly performance: The S&P 500 was up 1.32%. Gold was down 0.89%, silver was down 3.29%, platinum was down 6.80, and palladium was up 1.17%. The HUI gold miners index was off 5.77%. The IFRA iShares US Infrastructure ETF was down 3.73%. Energy commodities were volatile and mixed on the week. WTI crude oil was down 1.90%, while natural gas jumped by 12.79%. The CRB Commodity Index was flat on the week. Copper was down 2.57%. The Dow Jones US Specialty Real Estate Investment Trust Index dropped by 0.46%. The Vanguard Utilities ETF lost 3.75%. The dollar index was up 0.22% to close the week at 104.86. The yield on the 10-yr U.S. Treasury was off 6 bps to close at 4.44%.
