Weekly performance: The S&P 500 gained 1.00%. Gold was higher by 0.92%. Silver was up 2.05%, platinum added 3.90%, and palladium was higher by 1.54%. The HUI gold miners index gained 3.68%. The IFRA iShares US Infrastructure ETF was nearly flat, up 0.16%. Energy commodities were volatile and mixed on the week. WTI crude oil was down 0.66%, while natural gas was up 1.32%. The CRB Commodity Index was lower by 0.60%, and copper was up1.36%. The Dow Jones US Specialty Real Estate Investment Trust Index gained 0.83%. The Vanguard Utilities ETF was up 0.48%. The dollar index was down 0.47% to close the week at 103.3. The yield on the 10-yr U.S. Treasury gained 3 bps to end the week at 4.47%.
