Taking a Break—Sort Of
This author has been moving his family into a new dwelling over the last couple of days. We are incredibly excited for our next new chapter, but, oh boy, moving isn’t easy. As a result, this week HAI will just be a recap of weekly price action along with best wishes for a wonderful week ahead.
Weekly performance: The S&P 500 was up 0.62%. Gold was up 0.83%, silver was up by 0.99%. Platinum was up 4.08%, and palladium lost 5.07%. The HUI gold miners index was off 0.71%. The IFRA iShares US Infrastructure ETF was up 0.75%. Energy commodities were volatile and mixed on the week. WTI crude oil was down 3.97%, while natural gas gained 6.73%. The CRB Commodity Index was up 1.26%. Copper gained 5.91%. The Dow Jones US Specialty Real Estate Investment Trust Index was nearly flat, up 0.12%. The Vanguard Utilities ETF was up 1.05%. The dollar index was down 0.31% to close the week at 100.11. The yield on the 10-yr U.S. Treasury was up 1 bp to close at 3.75%.
